An early partipant and pioneer with Creative Commons, Colin's words and music have been remixed by hundreds of musicians globally, resulting in two collaboratively produced “Premixed” albums and his acclaimed “Free Culture Tour” promoting participation in the Creative Commons.
Premixed
A remix album made with people I never met
After releasing free a cappella tracks of song fragments through the remix site ccMixter.org, explicitly "premixed" for producers to build on his work, hundreds of musicians produced music with his voice and lyrics. The album features tracks produced by global "mixters" from North America, Europe and Japan.
Free Culture Tour
A multimedia performance about copyright, creativity, and the internet
The tour brought the performance and related workshops to colleges, high schools, and local media centers to engage young leaders and communities to participate in the digital commons.
