For 25 years, Colin has worked at the intersection of technology, arts, and social change to help people and communities tell their own stories and be heard. In his early career, Colin helped pioneer digital storytelling for civic engagement, building the first national online youth media platform and co-hosting conferences that brought together digital rights activists, policymakers, and cultural changemakers to reimagine media's role in society.
He then applied these insights to transform how stories reach audiences, managing award-winning global marketing campaigns at the leading digital agency R/GA before founding Louder, the first ever crowdfunded media buying platform that helped activists and artists reach over 35 million people beyond their network—an innovation highlighted by CNN and The New York Times.
As a senior product leader at Change.org after its acquisition of Louder, Colin led several high impact teams across the organization, contributing directly to the turnaround from near bankruptcy to profitability. He was hand-selected to lead cross-functional global teams and invited to co-host critical company-wide conversations, using his unique talent for facilitating communication across cultural and functional divides.
As the depth of the societal crisis has come into focus, Colin and his family moved from Oakland, CA to the Villa Grande community along the Russian River, and his work has become more deeply rooted in local communities and shared histories, blending traditional community engagement with innovative uses of emerging technologies.
